BBC is promising to enhance your level of interactivity with the ‘Connected Red Button’ service. The Connected Red Button service offers news and weather coverage, recommended viewing and alternative streams for live sports events.

The Red Button is a part of BBC’s digital TV offering. You are able to watch BBC programs including your favorite shows from BBC Three, BBC Four, CBBC and CBeebies. You can enjoy this service even when the channel is off air.

The service has been available for Virgin TiVo customers, but can now be enjoyed by Samsung and Sony smart TV customers as well. Both can now have access to a beta version of the Connected Red Button service when they press the red button on their remotes. LG smart TVs will be gaining access to the service early this year.
