Smart Bar Glassware

Pernod Picard's Connected Glass Uses NFC Tech to Place Bar Orders

At the Plaza Havana Club in Paris, Pernod Ricard unveiled an all-new connected glass that may be used to order a cocktail at the bar. This smart drinking glass was created in partnership with BlackSheep, a start-up that is on a mission to modernize the way orders are taken in bars and restaurants via a web app—that does not need to be downloaded and makes it possible for patrons to order and pay with ease.

The drinking glass with the NFC chip makes it possible for orders to be sent seamlessly to a bartender with a simple smartphone action. From there, customers are able to be served with greater ease or notified when their drink has been prepared and is ready to be picked up from the bar.

At home, the tech provides access to a Cocktail Club web app that provides everything from recipes and shopping lists to creative cocktail ideas.
