Fundraising Font Projects

Chris Flack is Turning Comic Sans Hate Into Money for Cancer Research

There's a lot of comic sans hate out there, but could the terrible typeface ever be used for good? This is a question Chris Flack hopes to answer with his Comic Sans for Cancer campaign. He is challenging people to design a poster using the infamous font in support of cancer research.

The graphic designer based out of London wants to celebrate the 20th anniversary of comic sans by using it in a quirky but beneficial way. Flack admits he feels the comic sans hate too, but that is part of the fun. The project takes a funny, mocking and dramatic tone, apologizing in its PDF guidelines "in advance to the design gods for the design sins" for example.

Comic Sans for Cancer online submissions are now open, and all proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.
