Color-Changing Condoms

Three Teens Create a Contraceptive that Detects STIs

In the heat of the moment, a person might not want to ask the important question, "Do you have an STI?" And even if a person does, their partner might not even know he or she does. That's where this color-changing condom comes into play. Dubbed S.T.EYE, the color-changing condom detects STIs in an easily acknowledgeable way.

Created by three teenagers from Essex, Daanyaal Ali, Muaz Nawaz and Chirag Shah, the color-changing condom was recently rewarded £1,000 and a trip to Buckingham Palace for 'best health innovation,' by TeenTech. They write that with this invention, "detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes." That's an admirable claim to make and one that can change many lives.
