Converted Cockfighting Arenas

2.8x Architects Transforms a Blood Sport Space into a Serene Garden

It's not often that people see a transformation such as this one involving a former cockfighting arena. The space for blood sport has been converted into a lovely garden that doesn't hint at its awful past -- at least aside from its circular shape. Located in Lima, Peru, the cockfighting arena had become a central part of a flourishing neighborhood. It's only natural people would want to turn it into something more useful and friendly.

2.8x Architects did just that. In regards to maintaining a bit of the history of the cockfighting arena, the studio writes, "A concept to be used so as to achieve the new image was the one of 'ruins.' That is to keep part of the existing stands and the central space figuring remains of what existed there back in time."
