Imagine walking into a large empty hall in an art gallery and seeing a single small cloud floating in the middle of the room. Great news, you don’t have to imagine it! Artist Berndnaut Smilde has created something that we would only imagine seeing in a dream. Smilde is a Dutch artist living and working out of Amsterdam. He was born in Groningen in 1978; He received his BFA at the Minerva Academy and his masters in Fine Art from the Frank Mohr Institute.
Smilde has created a series of displays in a number of galleries "The Nimbus Clouds". This process is a unique mixture of creativity, simple science and lighting. Combining art and nature in a one of a kind indoor setting, Smilde has captured the attention of many people around the world.
