Silver Rain Table Lamp Embodies a Bright Representation of Weather

Even those who can't stand spring showers will find the Cloud Silver Rain Table Lamp aesthetically appealing. This whimsical creation by Tadao Shimizu is an interactive model of stormy weather that functions as a delightful illuminator.

The Tokyo-based designer made use of chigiri-washi-paper, which is a popular traditional material. It was manipulated into the shape of a big fluffy cloud, complete with areas of varied transparency to emulate the visible texture of condensation in the sky. The light source is hidden within the billowing body of the Abovo product so that the glow is emitted diffusely in all directions, and with greater intensity through the bottom. The Cloud Silver Rain Table Lamp stands on fine metal rods that give the impression of falling streams of water droplets.
