The 'Plock' Clock Movement Writes Time on a Magnetic Board

Although the design of the 'Plock' is quite beautiful, the real magic of the design is in the clock movement. Created out of 407 individual pieces that were all handcrafted, the 'Plock' was designed to write the time out on a magnetic board rather than just display it.

Designed and created by Kango Suzuki of the Tohoku University of Art and Design in Japan, the 'Plock' took the designer six months to create.

With every minute that passes, the 'Plock' comes to life and etches the time onto a magnetic board. When the minute turns over, the clock wipes away the display and replaces it with the updated time.

The clock movement of the 'Plock' is intricate and ornate, and is almost like a Rube Goldberg Machine in clock-form.
