Gigantic Bird Nest Sculptures

The Cleveland Public Library Has a Giant Reading Nest Outside of it

Outside the Cleveland Public Library, Mark Reigelman built a reading nest using 10,000 discarded wooden palette boards. The length of the lumber and the light texture of the wood makes it seem like each palette piece is an oversized twig used to make this gigantic bird's nest.

To make this structure, Reigelman used over 40,000 nails and painted the pieces of lumber a golden color to give them a precious appearance. This wooden sculpture is a tribute to the tree of enlightenment and the sharing of knowledge, which is fitting considering that it is placed outside the Cleveland Public Library.

The interior of the retreat is a peaceful, quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of Ohio's streets. The only thing this perfect reading spot seems to be missing is seating.
