How do you define cool?
I define cool as anything that changes up a game. Anything that's new and innovative and does things in a way that has never been done before.
What is your favorite trend and why?
My favorite trend is desolate city time-lapse videos. It gives you a sense of an eerie feeling that something is missing when you have people gone from a city. It's like the special places that make up a city just become spaces.
What is your favorite thing about working at Trend Hunter?
My favorite thing about working at Trend Hunter is the open concept office. It's cool that we don't have cubicles separating everyone. You get to talk to people wherever and whenever, which is the best feeling.
How do you reset to be creative?
I find a good nights sleep is the best way to reset to be creative. Getting those REM cycles in and relaxing your mind. You piece together everything that you've gone through throughout the entire day, which allows you to wake up and be ready to take on the next.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
My favorite accomplishment ever is surviving an 18 hour bus right from Thailand to Cambodia. It was crazy zooming past all of these different provinces, vegetation and farmland, and rural areas and slowly getting into the city. It is an experience that I wouldn't traded for the world.
What inspires or excites you?
What inspires me is people from the past, those thought pioneers and leaders. I find reading biographies from great leaders and their ideas and life experiences also motivates me to do something great in this world.
Predict something awesome for 2020?
A trend I see upcoming in the future is the ability to speak in one language and have it translated instantly into another. It's a great idea because it bridges a lot of gaps, culturally and linguistically. I look forward to a world where you can just say something and somewhere around the world someone else is going to get the message instantly.
What advice do you have for the business world?
My advice to the business world is to listen to employees and listen to their ideas that would otherwise be ignored. They would be so much better off. The potential of these ideas could definitely benefit the company.
