Iconic Papercraft Architecture

Christina Lihan Recreates Renowned Structures One Fold at a Time

Christina Lihan is an American architect/artist that is taking papercraft to a whole new level. Lihan uses her architectural skills to create amazing papercraft renditions of some of the world's most iconic buildings and structures.

Lihan has recreated everything from the Eiffel Tower to the Taj Mahal using only paper. She begins each piece by photographing the structure she wants to make a model of. From the photograph she draws a charcoal sketch of the building which she then enlarges. The paper is then cut and folded and placed atop the charcoal sketch. The results truly are amazing, with each piece containing an incredible amount of detail and physical depth. Although an architect by trade, Lihan admits that she doesn't use exact measurements when making her models, preferring instead to eyeball everything.
