Sally, a new food service robot created by Chowbotics Inc., offers a quick, convenient, and healthy lunch option for businesses. The machine effectively serves as a vending machine for salad, but rather than serving up pre-made salad bowls, Sally makes a fresh salad each time.
Chowbotics Inc.'s device is capable of tossing fresh salads to order thanks to a proprietary internal system that holds fresh ingredients separate from one another and adds them in according to the salad ordered. The entire process takes about 60 seconds to complete; slower than simply grabbing a salad bowl, but far faster than preparing a fresh bowl oneself.
The current Sally robot is large, having been designed for communal spaces like supermarkets and offices, but Chowbotics Inc. is working on a scaled-down model for individual consumers in households.
