BbyB.'s Chocolate Chocolate Packaging Designs Include Schematic Elements

While many chocolate packaging designs are created specifically for men to give to women on Valentine's Day, this design from nendo turns the tables on convention.

In Japan, White Day is celebrated in March as the equivalent to Valentine's Day. On this Asian holiday, it's typical for women to gift men boxes of chocolates, rather than the other way around. With this in mind, Japanese design studio nendo collaborated with gourmet chocolate retailer BbyB. to create slightly masculine chocolate packaging designs. In place of large hearts, roses and other motifs that are commonly used to communicate expressions of love, these chocolate boxes feature subtle design plans and architectural details.

This is not the first time the design firm has worked with chocolate. Prior to the release of these masculine chocolate sets, nendo also created chocolate treats in the shape of paint tubes and limited-edition chocolate cubes for Maison & Objet.
