Wearable Chairs

The Chairless Chair Lets You Sit Down Anywhere, Anytime

Swiss start-up noonee has invented a product that will be heartily welcomed by anyone who works in an environment where they have to stand for several hours at a time -- it's called the Chairless Chair, and it's a wearable exoskeleton that lets you sit down anywhere, any time.

To sit down, all you have to do is bend your knees to lower yourselves down to the level at which you'd like to sit, before engaging the attached damper. The device then locks into your chosen configuration and directs its weight towards your heels, to which it is attached. It runs on a 9-volt battery and can operate on eight hours per charge.

The Chairless Chair's development at present is focused on factory settings, but it could have applications in the agriculture, medicine, film industry and travel industries.
