Gorgeously Glazed Furniture

The Ceramic Tables by Elisa Strozyk Almost Look Like Marble

The Ceramic Tables by Elisa Strozyk, a designer born in Berlin, Germany, may bring to mind the swirling patterns of marble for some. Yet the organic patterns created on each of the surfaces were done with ceramic glazes, which is one of the oldest decorative techniques in the world. Bringing a modern touch to the technique, the designs could easily be considered practical art pieces.

A great divergence from her sculptural wooden designs, the Ceramic Tables by Elisa Strozyk were recently unveiled at Objects and the Factory, an exhibition that took place in Cologne, Germany. She says, "I had wanted to work with ceramics for a long time. It was a good reason to visit some ceramic workshops, and I was very inspired by the different possibilities of using ceramic glazes."
