Japanese artist Harumi Nakashima is responsible for this intricate polka dotted ceramic sculpture.
The most intriguing aspect of this sculpture, which bears navy colored polka dots on a white background, is its twisted and contorted shape. It is an intriguing mix of something so warped and yet so simplistic and serene. It is reminiscent of an odd looking plant that you may see in a science fiction movie. The artist, who is a member of the ceramics movement entitled Sōdeisha purpose behind his creation was to demonstrate his rebellion against the traditional folk-craft style and philosophy that has prevaled throughout Japanese culture.
Currently, the ceramic sculpture is being displayed at Galerie NeC in Hong Kong.
