Segmented Skyscraper Architecture

The Century Spire by Daniel Libeskind Divides at the Top

The Century Spire by Daniel Libeskind has started to go up in Manila, and will certainly stand out in the city's skyline, which currently does not have an excessive number of skyscrapers.

The top of this building is distinct, as it separates into segmented areas, all with different shapes and heights. Apparently doing this gives more space to these sections, instead of just keeping the skyscraper as a traditional rectangular building. The entire building will be used for various purposes, including retail on the bottom, and penthouses on the top floors. Apartments can also be found in the building at a slightly lower price than the penthouses, but they still come with an amazing view. Photo Credits: designboom, centuryspire
