The Brussels Botanic Center Apartment Upgrade is Eco-Focused

It's one thing to create a sustainable building but it's quite another to retrofit an existing structure, which is what's at work with the Brussels Botanic Center apartment.

Designed by Vincent Callebaut, the project sees the building clad in greenery with a focus on making it a hub of sustainability for the Belgian city.

The design features roughly 10,000 planter beds being incorporated into the facade of the building with plants within that are specially chosen by botanists. This would enable the building to capture CO2 from the urban environment to help freshen the air.

The rooftop of the Brussels Botanic Center apartment would feature the Chrysalis, which would be adorned with solar panels and 42 wind turbines to help completely take care of the building's energy needs.
