Handheld Game Store Launches

Playdate Presents its New Catalog Games Store as a Curated Storefront

Panic's Playdate system began its shipping out to customers last spring and has since offered two ways for players to install games on the handheld device, with the latest being the launch of the Catalog Games Store. Prior to this, games are automatically added to the library at the rate of two per week for up to 12 weeks, reaching a total of 24 games within the first season.

There is also the option to purchase sideload games through marketplaces including Itch.io. The Catalog Games store marks the third way to attain games, which functions as a curated storefront of Playdate's upcoming content. When it launched, there were 16 games that are available with 11 of the titles as brand new games.
