Japan's Snoopy Museum Will Idolize a Fictive Comic Strip Dog

A famous cartoon dog is becoming the basis for a new museum. Coming to Japan in 2016, The Snoopy Museum will be the second of its kind. Despite being an American cartoon, Snoopy remains extremely popular in Japan.

The Museum will be situated in Roppongi, one of Tokyo's booming shopping and entertainment districts and will be neighbors with the Mori Art Museum. The Snoopy Museum will house many of illustrator Charles Shultz's original drawings, famous memorabilia and artifacts.

The Snoopy Museum is only set to operate for two and a half years, although there is a prediction for 800,000 annual visitors. Interest in the Peanuts gang will be renewed when a 3D Snoopy movie opens in November.
