The Cake House Reinvents Housing in the Czech Republic

The Cake House is a modular and progressive home concept by Matyáš Švejdík, Pavel Špringl, and Šimon Marek. It was presented during the Designblok festival in Prague earlier this year and is described by the team as an "architectural recipe for modular wooden houses." It is essentially a pitched-roof home that is meant to be customized and adapted to the various needs of people.

During the showcase, the team created an interactive model on display that allowed users to play around with it and create a range of diverse layouts to showcase its modular factors. Švejdík states, "The main idea of Cake Houses stands on the belief that if you come up with good basic space and construction principles, you can then plot variable and individual designs fast and reliably because of the standardization."
