This Wind-Reactive Ink Was Developed by Lauren Bowker.

A new kind of wind reactive inc has been developed by Lauren Bowker, a London-based artist who runs the material exploration studio The Unseen. This wind reactive ink changes color according to fluctuations in the air and around the body. The technology was demonstrated in a couture capsule collection designed for Swarovski.

It involves biological and chemical components integrated into layers of fabrics, morphing their RGB color values in response to changes in pressure. This allows the wind reactive ink to produce graphic displays in response to the environmental force of wind.

The compounds in the ink are capable of sensing up to seven environmental stimuli including heat, pollution, moisture, chemicals, friction and sound. Each of these stimuli have a unique color-changing effect on the surface.
