Colorful Interactive Kindergartens

This Interactive Building Facade Encourages Children to Play

Giving children a sense of ownership over the place they learn and play, the interactive building facade for this kindergarten in Ljubljana, Slovenia encourages children to have fun. The facade of the building was created by the team at Jure Kotnik Architecture who updated the building with the facade as a way to breathe new life into the structure.

From the exterior, the building facade looks rather simple and plain; this is only until children have interacted with the spinning wooden slats to reveal a bevy of colorful accents behind. The slats cover the windows and enable the experience to directly affect the interior feel as the direction of the slats will dictate how much light enters.
