Bug Repellent Booze Branding

This Mosquito-Repelling Beer Packaging Keeps Pests Away When Burned

This award-winning beer packaging also acts as a bug repellent. Designed by agency GPY & R Brisbane, the SP Lager Mozzie Box is printed with mosquito-repelling ink. When broken down pieces are thrown on top of a fire, it will help to keep insects away and in the process help prevent Malaria.

Based in Papua New Guinea, the brewery offers beer-drinkers the chance to enjoy their product responsibly without having to worry about getting mosquito bites if they are indulging outdoors. In addition to being printed with bug repellent properties, the Mozzie Box is also treated with eucalyptus, which acts like a mosquito coil when burned.

Similar branding in North America would also be a draw during camping trips and bonfires.
