Retro Ankle Boots for Men

Chelsea Boots Return

Thank goodness for The Horrors: They are bringing back one of the most popular men's shoes of the early 1960s, the Chelsea boot... but now, they are available for women as well!

The ankle high booties are tight with stretchy elastic siding.

"Chelsea boots were considered an element of the 1960s mod scene,' Wikipedia explains. "Their popularity is often attributed in part to musicians such as The Beatles (who wore what became known as Beatle boots) and The Rolling Stones, who primarily wore Chelsea-style boots with Cuban heels. A similar boot is the heavier Blundstone boot, which is popular in Australia."

This snap shot of Horror feet also includes the never-popular Winklepicker, that looks as crazy as it sounds.

These old fashioned men's dress shoes are often times patent leather, with a low ankle and an ultra pointy toe. Yes, I first thought them wild and obscure, but I've got my own pair now.

Some Chelsea-inspired boots can be found in John Fluevog and various vintage stores.

The video above shows the creation of some Chelsea boot fans at NikeTown London's NikeiD suite.
