In an unusual turn of events, Bloom gives her film canister a little bit of a "golden shower," as they say, soaking it in a cup of her own pee. The result is surprisingly beautiful, as the urine distorts the emulsion, creating spots that resemble amoebas on each frame.
The series, which is called 'Float On,' was inspired by a spot she used to visit with her dog. However, she gradually began spending less and less time there, as it was discovered by others. She explains, It was a truly sacred place to me. […] As time went on, I started noticing a couple people wandering in the desert. It just felt like it wasn’t our secret refuge anymore. I knew it was time for me to ‘float on’ and find new places. This series is my way of saying thank you to the desert, and a farewell at the same time."
