Vintage Plate-Covered Walls

This Brazilian House Was Re-Designed with a Signature Wall Accent

This Brazilian house has a design that was updated by the architectural firm 'Ambidestro.'

The architect on the job Joao Pedro Crescente decided to make use of the family's plate collection in the design of the space. Rather than having the plates sit in cabinets, the Brazilian house now has a wall that is entirely dedicated to the plate collection. The architect chose to layer the plates rather than pattern them side by side, giving the wall a quirky and textured look. The wall of plates stands behind a sleek spiral staircase, offering the perfect fusion between eccentric design and modern ones.

By using something as simple as a collection of plates in order to update this home, the designer manages to make perfect use of the space and provisions he was given for his job.
