Brass Token Announced its First Horror Game Titled 'The Chant'

'Brass Token' is a new Vancouver, Canada-based video game developer. The new game development startup has recently announced the details of its first game titled 'The Chant.' The Chant will be a game that places its emphasis on psychedelic and existential horror, rather than gore and jump scares.

Throughout The Chant, players will assume the role of Jess Briar, a woman who finds herself at the Prismic Science Spiritual Retreat, a remote island where Briar faces a number of horrors and unsettling situations. When creating The Chant, Brass Token wanted to reimagine both the horror genre and the idea of a coming of age story or a spiritual awakening story. The CEO, Mike Skupa, stated: ""It [The Chant] started with wondering what would happen if you had a spiritual awakening, and it turned out to be more of a horrific experience than a positive one."
