Omer Polak designed 'Vase no.16511421,' a series of brass vases that allows for intricate bouquet arrangements.
Speaking to his inspiration for the collection, Omer Polak explained, "I was fascinated by ikebana as a traditional Japanese floral arrangement. Ikebana often emphasizes other areas of the plant, such as its stems and leaves, and draws emphasis toward shape, line and form." He implements this in his design by creating a hollowed vase that exposes every part of the flower artfully, with the stems held at the bottom by a small marble water trough.
The name of the vase was chosen to show the number of bouquet arrangements that are possible for the different sizes of vases within the collection. As such, Vase no.16511421 splits into 165, 114 and 21 -- each number reflecting the amount of holes punctured into the brass in order to hold individual flowers.
