The Boo Lamp Was Inspired by a Doodle

Hedda Torgersen, a student at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, designed the 'Boo Lamp,' an anthropomorphic light intended to resemble a "long-legged character."

The porcelain head is balanced on lanky legs, fashioned from solid ash, making it seem as though it's mid-step. The legs are able to stay so slender because they are reinforced by internal metal rods, which provide strength, support and stability. The cord is unique due to its textile coating, made from polyester, and available in several different colors.

The anthropomorphic silhouette was inspired by a simple doodle that quickly evolved. Torgersen explains that she's modeled many designs after her drawings. The Boo character embodied in the lamp is one she got especially attached to, especially when it came to life in 3D form.
