Retro TV Simulator Games

'Blippo+' is Coming to Nintendo Switch Family of Devices Soon

Blippo+ is a cable television simulator originally introduced as part of Playdate’s Season Two lineup. Developed by Panic in collaboration with Telefantasy Studios, Noble Robot, and the artist collective Yacht, the title replicates the feel of analog broadcast using deliberately lo-fi, live‐action segments. The off‐handheld version adds full‐color visuals and is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch and PC on September 23, 2025, with a Mac release expected later in the year. Unlike the monochrome output on Playdate, this version leverages color to enhance its retro aesthetic while maintaining the series’ characteristic unpredictability and charm.

The game presents users with an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that operators can navigate like a traditional cable lineup, complete with a variety of surreal programs and an in‐universe forum called Femtofax. Upon release, Blippo+ will receive weekly content drops over an eleven‐week period, and it includes a time‐hopping mechanic that allows players to move freely between past and current broadcast schedules without forfeiting the linear viewing experience. These features combine to deliver a structured yet non‐demand, episodic exploration of the game’s offbeat television world.
