#InHonor is a collection of photographic portraits, put together by Atlanta-based photographer Ervin A. Johnson, that documents the sad fate of black victims of police violence in the United States of America. As a black man, Johnson had to face up to a whole lot of anxiety and despair while together the series, for which he applied solvents to photographic portraits to prompt physical distortions of pigments.
The distortion gives the portraits a brutal appearance, and represents the manner in which the lives of black victims of police violence have been taken away, while their families have been plunged into despair.
Ultimately, #InHonor is a very thought-provoking and timely photo series given the tense relationship between the police and black people in the United States.
