Charity-Run Sustainable Bread Shops

Better Health Bakery is What it Sounds Like (and More)

Better Health Bakery is exactly what it sounds like. And more. The shop is run by Centre for Better Health, a mental health charity with social enterprise practices located in the United Kingdom. "The aim is not to be reliant on grant funding, really," chief executive Ashwin Matthews told the Guardian's Social Enterprise Network earlier this week. "That's the aim – to have a project that can really pay for itself and then also fund other projects off the back of it."

Some of the breads offered, which are all made over the course of a long 78-hour process, include country rye sourdough, baguette and simply a plain country sourdough.
