Created by Mexican designer Marco Antonio Barba Sánchez, the Bermuda seawater purifier is a cleverly crafted survival tool that harnesses the power of the sun. Intended for castaways and others without access to drinking water, the Bermuda seawater purifier features a pop-up design that ensures the device can be easily stored in an emergency pack or other small space.
The inspiration for the seawater purifier came from Sánchez's trips in Mexico where he noticed fishermen were often ill-equipped for the tasks at hand. With this in mind Sánchez created the Bermuda seawater purifier as an essential survival tool should any of these fishermen end up in a dangerous situation.
While the Bermuda is capable of purifying anywhere from 2.1 and 4.2 liters of drinker water per day Sánchez stresses that it is only for emergency situations and not for prolonged periods of time.
