Return of the Beehive

Karl Lagerfeld & Amy Winehouse Bring Back Retro Hair Style

The controversial revelation that Karl Lagerfeld's latest muse is tattooed songstress, Amy Winehouse, put the fashion world in a state of shock this week. At his show in London last week, models in army-style clothes paraded the runway in retro beehive hairstyles, the look Winehouse has brought back with a dramatic bang.

Despite the Back to Black starlet's drug addictions, things may be looking up for her afterall. After being nominated for six Grammys last week, the German fashion designer named Winehouse the next Brigitte Bardot.

"She's a style icon," Lagerfeld was quoted by the Sun.

"She is a beautiful, gifted artist. And I very much like her hairdo. I took it as an inspiration. Because, in fact, it was also Brigitte Bardot's hairdo in the late Fifties and Sixties. And now Amy has made it her own style," he said.

"So, when I saw her, I knew it was the right moment. Amy . . . she is the new Brigitte," he concluded.

Women wanting to rock the beehive better load up on hairspray and rollers and get ready to wake up an hour earlier each day!
