The 'Etno' Series Shows Each Woman Adorned in a Beautiful Headdress

Poland-based photographer Ula Kolska's incredibily vivid series entitled 'Etno' captures hauntingly beautiful models adorned in their own uniquely beautiful headdresses. The concept was inspired by the Polish art of crêpe paper sculptures developed in at the turn of the 20th century. Crêpe paper flowers decorated portraits of saints and were used in women's headpieces for lavish events. Each crown, made by Beata Bojda, was created by hand using the traditional Polish method.

When looking at Kolska's Etno series, it's evident that the artist combined a wealth of worldly cultures to produce her vision. The series contains imagery from European culture which is combined with Asian and African elements. The vivid colors mixed with traditional components brings out both historic and futuristic aspects in Etno -- costumes from movies like Star Wars, Hunger Games and the Fifth Element come to mind.

It's hard for anyone to look away from these stunning photographs.
