'Beast Boutique' Explores Little Red Riding Hood in Miami

Currently on exhibition at SATELLITE during Art Basel Miami Beach 2015, 'Beast Boutique' by Jennifer Avery is a stunning conceptual exploration of 'Little Red Riding Hood.'

The unique project was born out of Jennifer Avery's Artist Residency with the
Hermès Foundation and as such, the installation was completed in collaboration with seamstresses from Hermès. Avery was the first American artist selected to participate in the Hermès program, while 'Beast Boutique' is presented by Yellow Peril Gallery.

The conceptual installation sees the artist merge the personalities of Little Red, Grandmother and Wolf into one body inside a space that is part boutique, part forest. The immersive installation sees Avery explore such themes as the performance of femininity and Eros and the limited room to grow between childhood and womanhood.
