Valen Zhou Mashes Up Three Bike Genres in This Playful Concept

This "barebones motorcycle" concept is by no means functional but definitely an interesting twist. The object was envisioned by Valen Zhou, a Milan-based motorbike photographer who has no expertise in mechanics but a strong imagination nonetheless.

Valen Zhou mashes up bicycle sensibilities with sprint racer aesthetics and dirt bike elements to bring the barebones motorcycle concept to life. The aesthetic of the piece, which incorporates a "handcrafted steel frame, bicycle saddle and custom dropped bars," is very raw which is part of the appeal. The engine that Valen Zhou chose for his concept is the Kawasaki KZ250.

Part of the motivation for the barebones motorcycle is also "keeping total weight to the bare minimum and not sacrificing agility as far as possible." Valen Zhou clearly designed this with racing in mind.
