The Barber Osgerby Ascent art exhibit explores the beauty behind the ability to float and fly. It doesn't focus on birds and fishes, however. Instead, it hones in on the technology that humans themselves have created over the last few decades to achieve feats that once would have been thought magic.
Put together by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, the design duo behind the Olympic torch for London’s 2012 Olympic games, the Barber Osgerby Ascent art exhibit highlights materials such as Japanese paper, wooden racing shells and mirrored polished brass in order to spotlight handmade techniques that allowed boats to float and planes to fly.
The Barber Osgerby Ascent art exhibit is comprised of 8 pieces, which are currently on view at the London gallery Haunch of Venison.
