Single-Storey Bamboo Homes

Vilela Florez's House is Ultra-Modern with a Distinct Artisan Flair

Architecture firm Vilela Florez built a beautiful single-storey bamboo home in rural Brazil that perfectly ties in with the surrounding lush environment. The chevron-patterned exterior of the house is boldly broken down and divided with dark concrete poles, which create a contemporary and chic aesthetic. As well as feeding into the vibe of the house, the pattern of the building also doubles as a thermo-insulation.

Vilela Florez's choice of materials reflects a strong nature-focused approach that is sure to provide a wholesome experience for the residents of the house — "a couple and their sons who occasionally visit."

Completed with a swimming pool and an inviting lush patio, the bamboo home was built in only 10 months.
