Modern Balloon Vases from Shun Kawakami

These beautiful black and white images of balloon vases are a collaboration between artists Shun Kawakami, balloon artist Daisy Ballon, calligrapher Gen Miyamura and photographer Yuu Kawakami.

These fascinating balloon vases remind one of Oriental scrolls and traditional Asian art but also look like exploding, motion-capture images. The images were created for an exhibition in Tokyo called, “composition of knowledge and feeling.”

There are consumers who need to see vibrancy and an element of destruction or chaos in order to truly be moved by an image.
