Bakoko's Timber Cafe Uses Excised Cladding to Construct its Contents

The concept of wasted material is unheard of in the design of Bakoko's Timber Café. The pop-up restaurant was conceived as customizable modules made from sustainably-farmed lumber to create walls, ceilings and even the seating.

But what will really impress you about this idea is that the entire project would be "cut from the same cloth." The frames of the chairs and the surfaces of the stools would be extracted from the faces of the structure, producing abstract openings for windows. Wooden panels of 3 meters by 16.5 meters from which every scrap is used means more resourceful manufacturing.

This flatpack-able feature of Bakoko's Timber Café also means that transporting the temporary coffee shop is incredibly convenient. It can be stowed and sent off in a standard 40-foot shipping container and assembled in a day.
