Developed as part of a collaboration between chemical company Yara and pioneering shipping technology company Kongsberg, the Yara Birkeland is set to be designed and constructed by a newly formed company by the name of Massterly. Not only will the Yara Birkeland be the world's first autonomous container vessel, it will also be operated using electrical power alone rather than any kind of diesel.
