CVS Pharmacy is Testing Autonomous Prescription Delivery with Nuro

CVS Pharmacy has announced that customers in Texas will soon be able to enjoy the convenience of autonomous prescription delivery as part of a new pilot project being launched in partnership with Nuro. The program will allow customers to select curbside pickup through the CVS website or app and will have it arrive at their address within three hours. Customers only need to then confirm their identity before receiving their order, which is completely free from contact.

Nuro spoke on the new autonomous prescription delivery through CVS Pharmacy saying, "Starting in June, this first-of-its-kind partnership brings Nuro into the health space — our third delivery vertical — as we utilize our fleet of autonomous vehicles to deliver prescriptions and essentials across three zip codes in Houston, Texas. We see this moment as an important stepping stone toward delivering all kinds of goods, beyond food and groceries. It is progress towards building a future where through moving goods instead of people, we can lessen the need for unnecessary trips, save time, and create a safer and more convenient way of getting the things we need. We hope that by using our electric bots to deliver things now, we can pave the way for a healthier and better future for all."
