These Buses Use Automated Drive Technologies From Fusion Processing

Fusion Processing has teamed up with an array of high-powered partners including Transport Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory to develop an autonomous bus project that makes use of Fusion Processing's drive technologies.

These autonomous buses are equipped with the proprietary CAVstar autonomous driving suite which combines the wonders of artificial intelligence controls with high-end optical cameras, LiDAR and radar. This allows for the buses to navigate a diverse array of environs that include bus lanes, minor roads, highways, traffic lights and street designs, not to mention various traffic scenarios.

The capabilities of these autonomous buses is being tested via a pilot project that will see five buses service the 2.5-km Forth Road Bridge.
