Concept Electric Race Cars

The Audi Vision Gran Turismo is No Longer Just a Conceptual Model

Originally created for the video game Gran Turismo, the Audi Vision Gran Turismo was never meant to be a reality. But the German automaker has recently decided to surprise fans by announcing the concept vehicle will be competing in the latest racing season of Formula E. The vehicle was originally designed in celebration of Gran Turismo's 15th anniversary and was showcased among other concept vehicles designed by multiple car manufacturers.

Early pictures of the Audi Vision Gran Turismo are incredibly similar to the original concept, but the real impressive nature of the car lies in its performance specs. The vehicle features all-wheel drive as two 200kW motors power the rear and single motor for the front. This gives the car a power output of 600kW, which roughly translates to 815 horsepower. Weighing in at just over 3,000 pounds, the Vision Gran Turismo is capable of going zero to 60mph in just 2.4 seconds.
