Artist Jee Young Lee Transforms Her Studio in ‘Stage of Mind’

Artist Jee Young Lee does things you won't believe with her small work space. None of the photos featured in this series are Photoshopped. For ‘Stage of Mind,’ artist Jee Young Lee made all the props to turn her small studio into other worlds.

The Korean artist plans and builds these elaborate worlds for weeks or even months before finding a way to put herself in them and taking the photo. There are sixteen in the collection and they all rang from ethereal to unnerving.

According to artist Jee Young Lee, the rooms take inspiration from old Korean fairy tales or from her own life. The some of the rooms take a lot of inspiration from her own psyche.

The collection will be shown in France at the OPIOM Gallery next March.
