These Crayon Carvings by Artist Diem Chau Intricately Depict Animals

These colorful works by Seattle artist, Diem Chau are an amazing feat. The inventive artist has taken a collection of Crayola crayons and carved animal heads from the wax. The result is a gallery of miniature totem poles that defy belief. Diem, is an artist who has worked in this intricate medium for her entire art career, creating insanely detailed sculptures from crayon wax and lead pencils.

Chau, who is originally from Vietnam, received a BFA from the Cornish College of Fine Arts. Shortly afterwards she began exhibiting her beautiful sculptures all around the US. This latest collection will be on show in Chicago at the Packer Schopf Gallery this April. These awesome works are sure to be appreciated by children and adults alike.
