Artifical Climbing Mountains

This German-Built Climbing Mountain Looks and Feels Like Real Rock

German company Climb Up!-Kletterwelt is constructing artificial climbing mountains that look and feel like real mountains. The mountains will make rock-climbing more realistic for climbers growing weary of indoor climbing gyms.

The climbing mountains’ rock-like structure allows climbers to force their way to the top by grabbing and stepping on crevices, ledges and protrusions like the ones seen on real rocks. For added authenticity, the mountains will include summit crosses and log books along the climbing routes.

The climbing surfaces will feature integrated safety cables bolted via clip harnesses. This eliminates the need for a climbing partner, and allows even inexperienced climbers lacking rope skills to climb without a partner.

The artificial climbing mountain will be one of the highlights of a forest adventure park set to be built near the city of Berlin.
