Compartmentalized Art Desks

Laura Mrkša Created a Modular Table That Keeps Everything in Reach

Laura Mrkša is an industrial designer based in Zagreb, Croatia, whose latest work is an art desk with a clever design. Titled the 'Workbench,' the furniture piece was made to increase efficiency and hide tools when not in use.

In order to achieve this, Laura Mrkša structured a sleek and simplistic base, making for an art desk that complements nearly any space. In addition to this, the lack of excess drawers allows consumers to move around more freely beneath it -- not limiting the chair that's paired with it to one spot.

What's most interesting about Laura Mrkša's art desk however are the many modular drawers that fit on top. Each can be covered with a glass panel when more work space in needed, which simultaneously ensures that consumers can see what they have and not have to search around for a tool.
